ISO9001:2008
Quality and service are two very important factors in our business. To demonstrate our commitment to this, Applied Traffic is a registered ISO 9001:2008 company with LRQA, for the design, supply, overseeing, installation and maintenance of environmental and traffic monitoring systems in accordance with National Highways Sector Scheme 8.

ITS United Kingdom
Applied Traffic are members of ITS United Kingdom and in 2006 won the ITS Technology Award for Excellence for our VIPERTM traffic intelligent solution in partnership with Civica UK.

Transport Statistics User Group (TSUG)
Having worked with the Department for Transport for the last 8 years, Applied Traffic was responsible to the maintenance of their nationwide traffic monitoring sites. It was natural progression which led us to join the TSUG and become involved in providing the DfT with specific aspects of its statistical activity.

University of Reading
Applied Traffic became involved with the University of Reading in 2006 through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme. This began with selecting a candidate and introducing them to our company from where they were based. The scheme ran for 2 years, during which provided expert mentoring, support and guidance from a lead academic at the university and Applied Traffic.

KTP has been a huge success for both Applied Traffic Ltd and the University of Reading. As a benefit to the university, staff have been able gain a valuable insight into the operation of a SME. We are please to have been able to secure the candidate who has become our Technical Director, Mark Newbery.

We will always have a need to improve and develop new solutions, products and services and would look to continue our involvement with the university.

Eureka Footprint
Project: Σ! 2486 FOOTPRINT

We are one of the UK representatives to FOOTPRINT a European working group, working on the harmonisation of measurement standards for road and rail vehicles across the EU. We are currently working on a CEN Workshop Agreement with the aim of producing a European standard.

Part of the Footprint project focuses on vehicle specific noise measurement. As a result we have been able to develop a fully integrated vehicle monitoring system which combines WIM with vehicle specific noise measurement and environmental monitoring.
